Internal Examination.

Selected for the LSM Art Award this series of work comprises seven stoneware ceramic vessels that embody the emotional and physical toll of living with poor gynaecological health. The pieces evoke a visceral response through the intentional use of defective glazes, creating a stark contrast between rough, textured surfaces and smooth, polished areas. These contrasts symbolise the conflicting sensations of vulnerability and resilience, mirroring the invasive nature of medical investigations that often yield no definitive answers. The vessels "look" like they "feel," capturing the violation and frustration of navigating healthcare systems while confronting the deeply personal experience of being unseen or misunderstood.
